A knowledge of English is a priority as most instructions and literature are in the english language. Other than english, Hindi is commonly used as a language of communication.
The LSET campus is spread across 2.5 acres housing more than 200 species. It boasts of unique infrastructure, lecture halls, well stocked library, a research laboratory and an advanced animal health care centre.

Trainees who have passed out from LSET have been placed at Kevadia Zoo, Zoos in South Africa, Reptile farms near Mysore, In private collections in Dubai , have set up their own businesses.
Its the only institute in India that has a comprehensive program on training students to be efficient animal keepers working across a plethora of species.
Students have the opportunity to do their internships during the course at Bannerghatta Zoo and a number of other zoos and private collections. Successful students from LSET, depending on their performance, have had the opportunity to work in Dubai, South Africa and Thailand.
